Green Developments in Pittsburgh
Recently Mayor Luke Ravenstahl announced a budget addition of $100,000 into a proposed "Green Initiatives" trust fund. In addition, the search is on for a Sustainabilty Coordinator for the City of Pittsburgh. The trust fund was accomplished through savings the city had generated from buying energy in an online auction with Allegheny Energy. The fund will go partially toward the salary for the new Sustainabilty Coordinator as well as providing matching funds for the city to utilize in securing grants for their environmental efforts.
